PUBLISHING CENTER: Publishing Center starts this week. We are looking for volunteers with clearances to work with students in grades K-2 to edit their short stories. The project will begin with 2nd grade classes the week of March 11: Ms. Petriccione Monday 3/11 9:50-10:35am; Ms. Brown Tuesday 3/12 10:40-11:25am; Ms. Melchor Thursday 3/14 9-9:45am; Ms. Doctor Friday 3/15 1:10-1:55pm. SQUARE 1 ART: Square 1 Art is a unique opportunity to celebrate your children’s artistic accomplishments while raising funds for the school. Coming home in mid-March will be your child’s custom catalog featuring their artwork. You will have the opportunity to purchase keepsakes for the whole family containing their artwork. The school earns profit from every order. Watch for more details about the campaign and order deadlines.
ZOOM for the Classroom Update!! Thanks to all of your generous donations the PTO was able to say YES to all of the teachers who requested items. YES to a dry erase tabletop easel, dry erase pocket sleeves, magnetic erasers and a mesh desk organizer. YES to 4 new classroom rugs for first grade and a Lumesn USB document camera. YES to replacement privacy shields for testing, 50 dry erase boards, three letter word builder set, alphabet stamps and ink, and a multitude of books for a kindergarten listening center. The rest of the funds have been used for the ACORN program through Briar Bush that all classrooms enjoy, funding One School One Book, offsetting costs for field trips, and the K-2 Publishing Center.
5K: Scheduled for April 13th this year, and will also include a 1.5 mile walk for those who don’t want to go the full 3 miles. We are looking for donations from small businesses to sponsor this event. If you or someone you know has a small business or a local business that would like to donate to the school as a way to advertise to our community, please contact Meghan at 5K@overlookvolunteers.com. Formal request letters and Tax ID information available. Even a small donation makes a big difference!
