Week of April 9, 2018

  • PUBLISHING CENTER:  Thanks to an amazing group of volunteers, we have completed editing and interviewing the 1st and 2nd grade stories.  We move on to Kindergarten this week.  Volunteers with clearances are needed for Ms. Sweeney: Mondays 4/9 and 4/16 12:20-1:05 **in Kindergarten Pod**, Bradshaw: Tuesday through Friday 9-9:30am and/or 2-3pm both next week and the week after (we will post on Facebook when the class is completed) **in Kindergarten Pod**, Simmons: Thursdays 4/12 and 4/19 12:20-1:05 in Library, and Petriccione: Wednesdays 4/18 and 4/25 12:20-1:05 in Library.  Questions: contact Jamie.
    ALSO NEEDED: At home volunteers to type the stories and bind them into books. This can be done on your own time from your home or office.  Interested in learning more about this phase? Contact Meghan.
  • APRIL PTO MEETING: April 26 at 7:00 in the library.  The safety presentation in conjunction with the Abington Police Department that was cancelled back in March due to the snow will take place at this meeting.  The 5th grade parents meeting is also rescheduled to this date.
  • SAVE THE DATE: SATURDAY, MAY 12, 2018 – Overlook will be co-hosting a 5K RACE, immediately followed by a SPRING FAIR at Copper Beech Elementary School.  Race starts at 9:30 AM and the Fair from 10 AM – 1 PM.    We are in need for sponsors for the race & donations for the fair.  If anyone knows a local business owner or has a good relationship with a business in the area, please ask around to solicit interest.  All race sponsors will be listed on the back of the race t-shirt and all fair donors will be listed on a bulletin board prominently displayed at the fair.  In addition, tables will be available for the fair at a fee of $30 for the 3 hrs for any business wishing to advertise or sell at the fair.
  • PTO EXECUTIVE BOARD NOMINATIONS:  It is time to start planning for next year.  We are looking for a few people to join the PTO team of Board members for next year.  Consider nominating yourself or someone else who wants to get more involved in planning everything that PTO supports.  We also are taking nominations for the 6th grade representative.  Click here for the PTO nomination form that will be coming home in print form next week.  Contact Patricia with questions or nominations.
