Looking for something educational to do this summer?  Take a trip to The Sterling Hill Mineral Mine and Museum with Overlook’s very own Mr. Carroll.  The Sterling Hill Mineral Mine & Museum contains many interesting items including a huge exotic rock collection, examples of early technology, and a shelf built to look like the periodic table of elements with examples of each element.

The tour is about 2-3 hours long (this is a special, longer tour set up by Mr. Carroll), which includes a tour of the mine, the museum, and then a rock collecting adventure) and of course, lots of fun, science talk with Mr. Carroll.  Participating families are to meet on site at the museum at Noon on August 11.

Those interested in participating are to RSVP with Mr. Caroll at  Please note that the museum is located in New Jersey and is about a 2.5 hours drive.  Website to the museum is:  Please note that this is a FREE event.

Please remember that ANY and ALL parents who wish to volunteer as chaperones, help out as classroom parents, or assist in other capacities at the school MUST have their volunteer clearance forms.  For more information on volunteer clearance forms, please visit the Overlook PTO Volunteer Clearance page.
